CASAA Research Professors, Dr. J. Scott Tonigan and Dr. Jon Houck, will facilitate this free 9-week seminar series presenting a step-by-step approach to preparing a successful NIH grant application. Special emphasis will be placed on avoiding common pitfalls and capitalizing on newly implemented NIH grant application guidelines, focusing on Research Project Grant (R-series) funding mechanisms, as well as modules for Fellowship (F-series) mechanisms.
Who should attend? Faculty interested in learning valuable insights and tips on how to submit a winning NIH “R” or “F” grant application.
Registration Attendance each week is strongly encouraged, but not required. Space is limited, so please register by March 20, 2017.
J. SCOTT TONIGAN, PhD, is a Research Professor in the Department of Psychology. Dr. Tonigan has enjoyed 29 years of continuous NIH funding in support of UNM’s Center on Alcoholism, Substance Abuse, and Addictions.
JON HOUCK, PhD, is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology. Dr. Houck has received multiple NIH awards in his 6 years of service at UNM’s Center on Alcoholism, Substance Abuse, and Addictions.
