Dr. Francis-Yan Cyr-Racine
Physics and Astronomy
Describe your research in about 200 words.
Prof. Cyr-Racine’s research brings together a unique mix of particle physics, cosmology, and astronomy to determine the properties of the mysterious dark matter permeating our Universe. He is particularly interested in how the microphysics of dark matter affects structure formation on a broad range of scales, from the largest distances probed by the cosmic microwave background to those corresponding to the smallest dwarf galaxy. A significant part of his work aims at developing novel techniques, both theoretical and numerical, to either look at current data with a fresh eye, or to prepare for upcoming large cosmological and astrophysical data sets.
