Your background in academia:

Dr. Laura Crossey is a professor and former Chair in the department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the University of New Mexico. Crossey received her doctorate degree from the University of Wyoming in 1985, and is a Fellow of the Geological Society of America. Crossey has supervised 4 post-docs, 13 PhD and 22 MS students in her 30 years at UNM. Crossey’s research focuses on low-temperature geochemistry, including geologic influences on water quality. Crossey leads the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation at UNM and she received the 2015 New Mexico Women in Science Impact Award.
