Your background in academia:
Lindsay Smith graduated from Rice University in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Smith then received her master’s degree in Anthropology from Harvard University in 2004. At the University of New Mexico, Smith teaches in the department of Anthropology serving as an Assistant Professor of Ethnology, a role she has held since fall 2012. When not teaching, Smith does research on social and ethical dimensions of genetics, medical anthropology and human rights among other anthropological subjects. In 2012 Smith received a Research Group Fellowship for her work titled “Between Life and Death: Necropolitics in the Era of Late Capitalism.”
