Your background in academia:

Dr. LynnDianne Beene earned a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Arkansas in English Literature and Rhetoric and a Ph.D. from the University of Kansas in Linguistics and Language Theory. As a faculty member, she is the author of several books including The Riverside Handbook of Grammar and Rhetoric and a critical study of John le Carré. She recently retired from the University of New Mexico’s Department of English Language and Literature but has continued to teach writing for publication for the Maximizing Access to Research scholars through the Department of Biology. As a faculty member, she was active in administration for the English Department as well as for the University community. As a professional writer and editor, she has continued to pursue her research interests in language studies, writing for publication, and contemporary literature.
