Describe your research in about 200 words.
My research utilizes a multi-methods approach, including experimental behavioral paradigms, psychophysiology, functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), ecological momentary assessment (EMA), and neuromodulation. The Hinojosa laboratory’s goal is to discover biomarkers for co-occurring posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and alcohol use disorder (AUD) to help guide clinician decision-making and increase treatment response rates in marginalized women.
What’s the most interesting thing you have learned from a student?
Maybe not the most interesting, but I’ve learned from many students that communication in the classroom is key to facilitating learning! Letting my students know why we do an exercise or activity to help consolidate what they have learned from my lectures was pivotal for their education!
