Describe your research in about 200 words.

My research interests lie at the intersection of international business and strategic management, with a particular focus on how firms navigate complex institutional environments during the process of internationalization. I explore the role of the institutional environment and non-market strategies—such as corporate political activity—in shaping firms’ international expansion. By examining how companies adapt to or influence regulatory and institutional differences to expand internationally, my research contributes to a deeper understanding of how strategic choices beyond the market influence firms’ competitive advantage in a global context.

What’s the most interesting thing you have learned from a student?

The most interesting thing I have learned from a student is how critical thinking and cross-cultural dialogue can enrich both teaching and research—especially in understanding how institutional contexts shape business practices.
