Describe your research in about 200 words.

Through my research, I seek to promote positive outcomes in adulthood for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Specifically, my research focuses on understanding long-term services and supports available to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families’ experiences learning about and engaging with these systems. My research interests are grounded in my experience as a sibling of an adult with Down syndrome and as a transition specialist for a school district in Colorado.

What’s the most interesting thing you have learned from a student?

Failure isn’t the antithesis of success.
