Describe your research in about 200 words.
My research interests span several areas, including Extended Reality (XR), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), robotics, and AI. Specifically, I have been working on XR-based human balance assessment and rehabilitation with emerging technologies (e.g., motion analysis, eye tracking, and force sensing); XR-based multi-participant collaboration and communication; interactions with mobile robots and drones; and data-driven content generation and retrieval.
What’s the most interesting thing you have learned from a student?
Some of the most compelling extended reality and graphics work I’ve seen has come from students who not only push the boundaries of technology, but also have creative vision and artistic drive. I have found that technology opens up new possibilities for artistic discovery; while the demands of artistic expression, in return, drive curiosity and innovation in technology.
