Elizabeth E. Esterly is a Graduate student in Computer Science at the University of New Mexico. Originally from Chicago, she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration with minors in French and Chinese/Japanese Studies from Northern Illinois University. For several years after graduation, she worked as a custom tattoo artist internationally, in places such as Osaka, Japan, and Melbourne, Australia. Upon returning to the US, Elizabeth became interested in Computer Science and began her graduate studies at UNM, where she has been able to combine her love for both the arts and the sciences through Machine Learning and Data Science and Visualization. She is the Founder and President of Association for Computing Machinery UNM chapter (ACM-UNM) and co-organizer of the annual NMSC (New Mexico Computer Science Student Conference).
