Your background in academia:

Hannah Yohalem is the Assistant Director of Research Strategy and Programming for the Faculty Research Development Office (FRDO) at UNM. Before coming to UNM, Hannah was involved in the arts as the Co-Executive Director of the non-profit Vital Spaces, which provides affordable studio and exhibition space to local artists in Santa Fe, NM and as the Managing Editor for the peer-reviewed journal ARTMargins. She was also previously a PhD candidate in Art and Archaeology at Princeton University focusing on modern and contemporary art and dance. Hannah received predoctoral research fellowships from the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Terra Foundation for American Art for her dissertation on movement and the body in the work of Jasper Johns. Hannah holds an AB with honors in Art and Architecture from Harvard University and a MA in Art and Archaeology from Princeton University.

 

Since shifting fields to work in research development, Hannah prioritizes developing engaging programs to grow and strengthen UNM’s research portfolio while supporting the careers of individual researchers. As part of the FRDO team, she facilitates proposal development and generally bolsters faculty research, scholarship, and creative activity at UNM. Her own research agenda emphasizes data analysis and the “the Science of Team Science.” In 2022, she received the Outstanding New Staff Member award from the Office of the Vice President for Research at UNM.
