Describe your research in about 200 words.
Lovell works with photography, video, and surveillance as tools to document their life experiences, making connections between class and personal identity. Lovell received international recognition for their work including Dear Erin Hart, for which they found, followed, and photographed their identity thief. Their stories have been featured on This American Life, BBC Outlook, The Today Show, The Guardian, and many other media outlets. Lovell is a summer 2026 MacDowell fellow. Lovell is currently working on their long-term project How to Become Invisible , which synthesizes their work as a private investigator into a photography book and art exhibitions.
