Describe your research in about 200 words.
My primary research interests are reading/literacy instructional practices and curriculum development, teacher preparation research, increasing Opportunity to Learn (OTL) through educational access and equity for all learners, integrating arts and storytelling as culturally sustaining teaching practices, bi-multilingual education, bilingual special education instruction and assessment, issues of disproportionate representation of minoritized populations in special education, and issues in identification/assessment practices in education policy.
What’s the most interesting thing you have learned from a student?
