My research is predominantly focused on the Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility model and Social and Emotional Learning in physical education and out-of-school time programming. Work focused on physical education teacher education programming and the inclusion of culturally sustaining practices serves as a secondary line and area of interest.

What’s the most interesting thing you have learned from a student?

My students have shown me the power of relationship building and compassion — you can know your craft inside and out, but if you cannot connect well with people, then you are very limited in what you can do.
