5 Things To Know: Flipping Your Classroom

UNM lecturers Dr. Sushilla Knottenbelt and Dr. Aurora Pun share the benefits of a flipped classroom and offer tips to how it can be achieved.

“I was finding that students are having trouble learning, and so I wanted to see how I could change focusing on how students learn versus lecturing,” Pun said.

A flipped classroom moves activities typically done as homework into the classroom and moves instructional content to be learned outside of class.

“A flipped classroom, for me, helps students learn better,” Knottenbelt said.
