Describe your research in about 200 words.

I am a counselor educator and completed my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at Syracuse University. My research revolves around counselor education, training, and andragogy. In particular, I study the phenomena of constructing and developing professional identity and theoretical orientation to counseling and psychotherapy among practitioners and practitioners-in-training. I also explore the mechanics of mentorship in practitioner education. In addition, I research the process of practitioner development under creative andragogy and inclusive education.

What’s the most interesting thing you have learned from a student?

That they wish to feel competent and have their uniqueness seen in the classroom.
