UNM Faculty Lightning Lounge 10/13/21

Hear from four University of New Mexico faculty members about their research in 7-minute presentations during the Lightning Lounge event.

 

The October 2021 speakers at the Lightning Lounge were: Diana Dragomir, an assistant professor of physics and astronomy whose presentation was “Planets Around Other Stars: Looking Beyond the Search for Life,” Paulo Dutra, an assistant professor of Spanish and Portuguese whose presentation was “Reclaiming Blackness in afro-Brazilian production: Machado de Assis and Racionais ” Hannah Mattson, an assistant professor or anthropology whose presentation was “Personal Adornment in Global Perspective,” and Loa Traxler, an associate professor of anthropology / archeology whose presentation was New Approaches to the Past: Reconstructing the lives of Classic Maya Royalty at Copan.”
