Have work to do or just looking to give your kids a cool summer experience? Albuquerque has camps for everything from flamenco dancing to forest excursions.
Check out our list of summer camps around the city. Registration for many camps starts early in the year and continues until camps are full.
CAMPS LOCATED AT UNM

High school juniors and seniors can learn about UNM’s School of Architecture and Planning and the disciplines in which the school offers degrees and certificates. Programs in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

This camp for high schoolers “offers participants hands-on activities & learning experiences in all areas of engineering and computer science. Students meet with engineering & computer science students as well as STEM faculty and industry professionals,” according to the website.

Kids of a variety of ages can sign up for the Lobos Volleyball Camp at Johnson Center on main campus this summer.

The school district offers a variety of activities including summer reading time, park story times and a newcomer summer program.

The Friends of Tijeras Pueblo and the Cibola National Forest are offering the “Want to Be a Junior Archaeologist?” camp for kids ages 10 – 14. Students will spend a week outdoors with professional and avocational archaeologists learning excavation and survey methods, local history, and how to record sites and artifacts.

The Albuquerque Little Theatre offers a variety of classes for aspiring actors ages 5 – 18.

This camp offers one-week camps for animal lovers ages 5 -17.

Presented by the National Institute of Flamenco, Flamenco Kids Camp is a one-week day camp that introduces children ages 5-12 to flamenco arts and culture.

Forest Bound is a free program in Albuquerque or Santa Fe open to 13 to 18 year olds.
Campers will learn about plant identification, New Mexico’s eco regions, native and invasion plants, ethnobotany and more.

The National Hispanic Cultural Center hosts a Spanish language camp for 5 – 12 year olds.

The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History will host week-long “Science is Everywhere” Summer Camps from June 2 through Aug. 8 for Pre-K through 6th grade students. Learn more.
