Describe your research in about 200 words.

My research interests pertain to secondary mathematics education for students with disabilities. Not only am I interested in math interventions for students with visual impairments and learning disabilities, I also plan to consider how to best prepare students with disabilities for post-secondary mathematics courses during high school. Additionally, I am interested in investigating the relationship between secondary mathematics teachers’ self-efficacy for working with students with disabilities on achievement for those students. Operating under the hypothesis that lower perceived efficacy will correlate with lower achievement, I would then like to develop and evaluate targeted instructional opportunities to build pre-service teachers’ self-efficacy.
