Your background in academia:

Dr. David Hanson is a professor of biology at UNM. His main research focuses on physiological, ecological, and energy-related aspects of photosynthesis in plants and algae, particularly elements of the carbon reactions. He currently has funding from five major research grants: three from NSF, one from ARPAe, and one from NASA for research on the International Space Station. He is an associate editor for the journal Photosynthesis Research, a panel manager for the USDA AFRI Foundational Program, and chair of both the UNM Faculty Senate Research Policy Committee and the Research and Creative Works Council.
