Describe your research in about 200 words.
My research focuses on advancing the fundamental understanding of heat transfer across interfaces in microscale during phase change process with advanced experimental and diagnostic technologies to facilitate the development of more efficient energy, heat transfer and thermal management systems. My current research interests include phase change heat transfer such as boiling and condensation, thermal management such as heat pipes and efficient cooling, nanoengineering such as robust and scalable fabrication techniques of surfaces with nano- and micro-scale structures that are beneficial to heat transfer as well as advanced microscale diagnostics such as high-resolution, high-speed infrared thermometry.
What’s the most interesting thing you have learned from a student?
How to make a 10-micron micropillars.
