Research interests include Latin American and Iberian Art Song, Vocal Health and Singing Voice Health, Aesthetics of the Aging Singing Voice, and appropriate terminology relating to singing voice in the 21st century.

What’s the most interesting thing you have learned from a student?

A difficult question… Students have taught me to be humble, to constantly be learning and growing, and to remember my own experience as a first gen student. I’ve been reminded of the sacrifice, hard work, dedication, and commitment to learning needed to complete a college degree. I’m also reminded of the dream. The dream students carry in their hearts which must be nurtured and honored, and from which is born the greatness of humanity.
