Developing a Sustainable and Reality-based Writing Practice

In this virtual workshop held Sept. 17th, Dr. Kristina Quynn, director of CSU Writes and Assistant Dean Graduate School at Colorado State University, gives tips on getting into good writing habits.

Researchers know that writing is one of the most important career-building activities we do. And yet…we also know that the barriers to writing regularly are considerable, given the realities of doing research and scholarly work in an era of email, remote work, and competing projects.

This workshop brings together research on writing productivity, deliberate practice (studies of expertise), habit formation, and procrastination so that we can co-create models of writing in a sustainable and sustaining fashion. Viewers will leave this session with a set of definitions, strategies, and a plan to start their own sustainable writing practice.
