UNM promotes professor who studies drug and alcohol use

Dr. Katie Witkiewitz was recently promoted to professor in the psychology department.

Her research revolves around alcohol and drug use, particularly using quantitative data to comprehend the variation in alcohol and drug use behavior. It has been funded by grants from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism since 2003.

According to her website, Witkiewitz has researched different ways to treat addiction successfully in addition to how to limit relapses back into addictive behavior.
